I have an addition to my fleet! I'm sorry guys but it's not a 911! My Cayenne is costing me far too much in fuel therefore I have bought a workhorse of a BMW that is:

318 d M Sport Saloon (de-badged) Black with Black Leather. Blacked out windows and some other toys. Why? Pre-registered MRRP £28,775. Bought for £24,000 with 10 miles on it registered 29/9/06 on 56 plate.

I will probably get 40-50MPG out of this compared with 13.7 on the Cayenne as of this mornings trip information. I will probably keep the Cayenne now until Spring and part-ex for a proper Porker!

No excuse to not be saving for the 911 now!

hope you got a good finance deal !
The process of ordering a car these days is that the business manager has to sign off the order and has to meet you and discuss your financing. So, I had explained to the dealer and in fact they knew me anyway that financing cars was my job and that I could not be beaten. I still had to wait for half an hour until the business manager was finished with the last culprit just to say that to her face. She went red in the face when I told her what rate I was doing for myself!

I picked up the BMW yesterday and took it for a good run to Cheltenham and back. I have turned my back on the Cayenne and ditched it with the wife yesterday morning (which is why it is now sitting in bodytechnics at the moment).

Who was I kidding that such a big car would satisfy me. Whilst my choice of engine in the BMW means inferior power, the handling and the feel of it make me smile. I am now seriously saving for the 911 purchase at which point I will part-ex the Cayenne and my wife will have a new BMW to wreck.
