Much to the concernation of several of the ballet mothers (and the amusement of a couple of ballet fathers), I managed to gracefully reverse my ar$e into the corner of my daughters ballet school building yesterday

Had I been in the old SC, I would have simply replaced the masonary, dusted down the old girl, and been on my merry way. But oh no, the 996 has be all modern and crumple.

Anyhow, not knowing much about modern bodywork and what is possible repair wise, I thought I would share a couple of images in the hope that someone may be able to offer some advice ... even if it is just "you're boned".

No pointing or laughing - not sure about the back but I have just paid a porsche approved bodyshop £1000 to replace my front bumper for my 996.

yip new bumper time.................most bodyshops would prefer to fit a new one than repair that one tbh,it can be repaired but would probably cost a small fortune and need plenty of skill to do





might be worth you asking to keep it and get it repaired,then flog it on Ebay or keep for the next time you go to ballet class :wink:

nah, no way £1000, i've got a friend who specialises in bumpers, he's a bit of a back street garage but that should be fixed for £3-400 pound.

My friend is located in Luton and just seen where you are, so i doubt you'd go for it anyway.

try a few local people, doesn't look like it needs all that much work to do. But yes I bet porsche do prefer replacing the bumper because its easier for them and makes them more profit.

Have a look around to see if there's any custom bodyshops, they may work on big body kitted corsas all day but they'll know how to knock plastics back into shape.

I'm thinking the same sort of thing. I've just been quoted about £700 for a replacement by Northways. They've seen the pictures and say this would be a best option given the extent of the damage.

Northways are pretty straight guys, so I'll probably go for this. I may also go for the switchable sports exhaust while I'm at it ...

As I always say, if they're gonna force you to bend you over you may as well enjoy it

I had similar damage and went for the replacement panel option and had the old panel repaired as a spare in case I needed it - which I did!!!!

Still, my 9 year No Claims is still in tact!!!
