How much is my 996.2 worth?

Hi guys. I've done a bit of research and I am struggling to come to a conclusion as to how much my car is worth, as I am considering selling it to fund another investment.

Details are:
996.2 Coupe
2002 '51'
87k miles
FSH - OPC/Specialists (last service March 2013 inc spark plugs & brake fluid change)
MOT and Taxed until - June 2014
Tiptronic
Aerokit
Unmarked Metropole leather interior (no wear to drivers seat having been repaired)
iPod AUX input
3 spoke steering wheel

When it was serviced in March 2013 it underwent an engine rebuild and had a Pelican Parts IMS fitted, 3 timing chains replaced, new crankcase seals, a 997 RMS, 2 head gaskets, new AOS and all relevant seals/gaskets/fastenings where necessary. This was done at Nelson Porsche, and I have a receipt for over £3,500.

It has also had a new battery, auxilliary belt and water pump fitted in December 2012

I'm sure there is more which I have forgotten. But having searched Autotrader/here/Pistonheads I am struggling somewhat as to what I could get.

Thanks,
Pack

Hi packs.
Your spec is very similar to mine and the same year and I too have just spent £2k on a new clutch, upgraded ims bearing and new seals on top of previously spending approx £2k getting her "right" for me.
Unfortunately it all comes down to that old saying it's only worth as much as somebody wants to pay for it.
Having said that, based on what I paid for her last October and since spent I would be looking for £13k minimum but then again I have no intention to sell and would in the event be in no rush to do so, obviously if it became urgent that I sold I would have to take a hit and no doubt knock a grand or two off.

Hi p4'

I part-ex'd my C4 in May. It was a 51/2002 but with only 53k miles.

FSH, good tyres, recent discs and pads, new GEO set up but no aerokit.

I was 'content' (i.e not happy) with the £13k I got. The dealer put it up for £17k and sold it within a fortnight. The mileage hurts yours a bit but the aerokit is a + for many people.

If selling privately I'd reckon on £14k as a decent starting price.

Good luck :thumb:

I think the aerokit is subjective, it's certainly a plus for some but I think it is also a minus for some.
For example I remember having a golf gti with a irmscher body kit which at the time (when I was younger) I thought it was the bees knees but looking back now I almost cringe.
I am not saying that is the case here but simply that for some, absolute standard is the preference.

I agree but whilst it may reduce the number of interested buyers it will increase its value given how much it costs to retro fit such a kit.

So out of interest what sort of price were you thinking?
T8 & I suggest somewhere between £13 & £14K, were they the kind of figures you had in mind although I know its all dependent on how quick a sale you want I guess?

Hi p4cks, just in case someone queries it, your car was registered on the 20/12/2001

Price

I would think 12-13 is about right, the extra work on the engine should help..

I paid 15k for my 2002 C4S Man Coupe with same mileage from TWG recently.

Good luck with sale, it looks in very good order.

Thanks chaps - I've listed it for £12,994.

Wanted to pitch it just below its competitors and hopefully get a quick sale.

Where (broadly) are you based? I expect you will have sold by the time I get back in the country but would like to look at your add, can you post the link (is it in the forum?)? GLWTS.

Blimey, I would have bitten your arm off at that price :D

Mine is a bit less mileage and had a brand new engine 12k miles ago. Similar mint condition but without the aerokit and I paid £15500 for mine three months back.

Sometimes I think a low price hurts, In the end I didn't even LOOK at cars under 14k cause generally after looking for three months I found they were so-so and I wanted special.

Looks lovely, if I was in the UK at the minute I would be keen to come take a look. I'm on the hunt for something just like this, maintained and loved by an enthusiast but within my strict budget. I'm not back until October, and expect you'll have no problem selling. GLWTS, hopefully you won't get too many time wasters. How come you're moving on?[/img]

Well I'm in no rush to sell it, even though it is competitively priced.

I'm just looking to downsize and invest the money elsewhere.
