We've had ages, jobs and cars so I thought it was time for another straw poll...

How many miles do you do in your Porsche (say which model) in the average year? Do we (that's the royal 'we' as I don't yet actually own one myself) all keep our Porsches for sunny summer mornings and track days or are we 20,000-mile-a-year road warriors???

Had mine 7 months, done 9k miles. My only car. 996 C4 Cab. Faultless, apart from a lack of Turbo.

I've done about 5500 miles over the last 12 months in my C4S but this figure is set to go down now i've got my 'summer car'.

Until the past yr, I had been using mine to commute to work daily, 100 ~ 120 mile a day, did that for 4 yrs without any problem. . Now I work locally, so I got myself a banger to go to work in and use the 993 once a wk when I work half day.

When you don't use it everyday, it feels more special when you do drive it.

I'm aiming for 5-6k miles this year...

Dillemma you see- my targa had only done 33k miles when I bought it in Jan. So, do I keep the miles down, or use it and enjoy it, but take more of a kicking on the residuals if I come to sell it?

Did 6k in mine last year using it as a second car. Robert when I bought my 993 Targa in May lsat year it had done 43k, I have adopted th policy of using it and not worrying about the mileage but then I did get a bargain when I bought mine so I probably have more of a financial cushion.

Use mine for daily commute 3-4 days a week 40 miles a day should equate to about 6000 a year.

Last car 993 Cab tip I had for nearly 3 years and did only 2500. What a waste!!! But then again I did a have a new born baby to contend with and built a new house in that time.

Previously had a 993 Tip coupe and did approx 6000 miles in just under 2 years.

Before that a 964 cab tip and 12000 in 2 years (mainly around europe)

Now after growing up a bit I have set my heart on a 993 Turbo Black/Guards Red or Arena Red with sports seats and reckon will do 4000 miles a year.

Any one know of ant decent 993 TT going in the above colours?

Any help or pointers appreciated

Cheers fellas

Noony - wow, you must have a mega short commute to get in under 5k!

In my last car a 2003 C2 purchased September 2003 I did 1000 K per month until February 2005.

Did 3k miles last year, hopefully will do more this year as I can now fit my twin boys in the back.

Done about 4k each year for the past 2 years in my 993 Turbo. Used for weekends mostly, not necessarily only sunny ones. Impreza WRX has done 2k since 1st March. Marin commuter bicycle getting close to 2000 miles since new too, and all that has cost is a new set of brake blocks - bargain!

Averaging about 15,000 miles per year. Only car (although do have a motorcycle) used daily. About to head off over the Stelvio pass next week, 2000 mile round trip, including a week sitting beside an Italian lake drinking Peroni. (That last bit was not strictly relevant to the original post, and is designed purely to create jealousy and envy amongst my fellow forum members). Ho hum.
