How many 996.1 Turbos made for the UK?

As per title. Coupe, manual if there is any distinction. I mean the early Turbo before any revisions - MY00.

I can't answer the specific question either but (according to PCGB) in total 1755 x 996 Turbos and 197 x 996 Turbo 'S' cars were registered in the UK.

The 1755 represented 10.4% of the total 996T production so, using that %, it's possible that around 550 of the 5,340 pre-facelift cars produced may have been UK registered.

So 1,755 is 12.6%

Giving 671 as the estimated UK 996.1T

BUT ........

Take out 'S' cars and the total production of Coupes & Cabs was 20,250.

UK registrations for Coupes & Cabs (excluding 'S' cars) was 1755.

Giving UK % as 8.67% so maybe there are as little as 463. :dont know:

I reckon "somewhere between 450 and 700" is about as good as we'll ever get to. :thumb:

Also, on the subject of the headlamps, I used to dislike mine, and was looking to do a 997 conversion.

But I now appreciate the styling. It stops people thinking there is a VW Beetle coming up behind them!

The Cab wasn't readily available until MY2004 so Cab fans only had one year to buy in.

Most of those still considering a new Coupe in 2005 probably chose to hang on for a 997T.
