How low can you go ?

Looking at a nearly new 991 C4S with aerokit and sports PASM (20mm lower).

Car must be a daily drive, including car parks, speed bumps, etc.

The gap between the ground and the lip on the front bumper is only 140mm. As a reference, the same gap on my 997.2 C4S is 195mm.

How low can I go before the clearance becomes a concern/pain during daily driving. Anyone have a similar set-up or have expeerience of the daily practicalities of an aerokit plus PASM sport ? :?:

14cm is not much clearance at all! Are you not able to seek a non-aerokitted car?

I was very impressed with the Cayenne "air-lift":

I run the spasm daily with the sport design kit. No bother mate, I have the worlds worst driveway so it should be an issue but it's not .

Thanks for the useful (and creative :) ) comments.

Managed to visit my OPC the other day. Standard 911 was measured at 150mm (which was a surprise to me) and we did some tests running this car up and down a tarmac ramp. Some clearance, but only just enough, so now even more swayed towards standard spec.

The problem for me is that the nearly new cars which interest me all seem to have the Aerokit and SPASM fitted, so this is why I need to make an assessment of the car's ability to be a daily drive. My dealer is very vague on the subject matter, and is not really helping me to make my mind up one way or the other. :?: He seems only interested in selling a new car. Thought there might be some chance of a discount, even a smnall one, so got a quotation for a new car. Not one penny off! :nooo: He gave me the excuse that supply of pre-speced UK cars has been deliberately restricted this year, that being the reason why he doesn't need to offer a discount. Works for the OPC, certainly doesn't for the customer. :?

Guess the only real way to check things out on SPASM and Aerokit is to fly to England and properly assess some demonstrators/nearly new cars.

Bigfra - that is a stunning 991! One of the nicest I've seen (on the road and posted up here) so very...nice choice!

DRZ911 - I'm only seeing you're from Northern Ireland! I won't ask what sales guy you have been dealing with ! OPC Belfast seem a bit light on any 991's of late - do think allocations have genuinely been reduced however! Not sure whether you are in the market for a Carrera or Carrera S but I'm sure you were aware of the black Carrera with the Ducktail etc they had for sale a few months back (think it was their Demo) - I thought that was a stunning car!

Hello Paul, on the lookout for a 991 C4S.

Occasionally Belfast OPC has well speced cars (both new and second-hand), but generally their cars do not have the 'essentials' that I'm after. May be something to do with the limited market here in NI.

Have tried other OPCs on the mainland where there is much better choice of cars, but for whatever reason cannot conclude a deal. :x Their attitude is also the same as Belfast OPC in that their approach is generally 'take it, or leave it'. :nooo:

Think the thing that prevails across all OPCs is that they want to sell you a car, not necessarily the one you really want!! :nooo:

As regards the SPASM and Aerokit, have now learnt exactly what I want, and will chase this down as either a new or second-hand car. On current form, it will not be from Belfast OPC.
