Hi Guys,

I'm looking to remove the standard black door sills with Stainless Steel ones acquired from Type 911. After taking the balck ones off, there is a lot of double sided sticky tape left on the car which I need to remove.

What's the best way of doing it?

Try either white spirit - diluted a little - or nail polish remover.

For both, apply with toilet roll & wipe immediately off.

Thanks Julian, I'll give that a go!

(Just a bit worried how you found out about using nail polish remover  )

Easiest way; Get someone else to do it.
Best way; Hot soapy water

White spirit (neat), Meths (great to celebrate with) or hot soapy water.

None of the above will damage the paintwork - believe me because this is what my company does. (not remove all the time, but apply as well)

If however it's a glue, not double sided tape then I'm afraid it's a different issue - you're in the sh*t!

Dependant on type of glue- heat may harden it.

Most types of alcohol will work - choose your favourite tipple and then get your argument ready for why your car smells of alcohol for the traffic cops..

Got it off, hot water and a lot of "picking"!

Not doing that again in a hurry. :(
