So, the BMW is up for sale although apart from the scammers no takers so far, not even a tyrekicker, have just reduced the price............

But I am still struggling to chose the replacement.

I think it will be a Golf but can't decide between a GT TDI 140 or go all out and get the GTI, both would be used purchases

Just done some sums and apart from the difference in purchase cost (approx £3K) and given the price differential between petrol and diesel plus the increased Insurance and tax costs on the GTI, it seems like based on 10,000 miles I would only pay about £400 more to run the GTI which has to be more fun......

Thoughts anyone.......??? Oh and finding a Candy White GTI (my preferred colour) is proving to be tricky on the used market........may have to make do with black in both....

get a used R32,

you wont regret it
Even less economical and more to buy and insure though, 10 miles less per gallon, couple of Insurance groups higher and £3-4K more on top of the GTI......plus it doesn't come in Candy White :(

I've had one and keep thinking about the R32 too. If you get the golf, get the DSG, its awesome, smoother, faster and more economical on fuel than the manual.

The GT Tdi 140 is discontinued now I think and replaced with the 170 bhp one.

A remapped 140 will probably keep up with the Gti but its not as good looking.

Candy white? why? :?
Think it looks really cool but only on the GTI...........not sure how iot would look in a couple of years......hence black being the second choice....
