Lucky you ! I've converted my garage into a utility room . Just enough room left to fit my motorbike . So the porsche is on the drive

Single garage sizing must be based on a 1964 Morris Minor or something. I could barely fit my 987 Boxster inside. You may be able to get the 997 in providing you don't want to get out of it or you have skills like the T2000 terminator from Terminator 2 and can poor yourself out.

Mine is 8 ft wide..... And can 'squeeze' out - but at least she is tucked away.

Think I might have an extra 6-7" to play with :D which I'm told makes all the difference anyone else squeezing their pride and joy in

Ok, just been out and checked (any excuse to take a look at her!).

Garage opening is 7' 2".

Internal width is slightly restricted due to a pipe to 7' 9". This leaves me around an inch between the wall and near side mirror; and then enough for the door to part open up to the pipe on the off side..... And then get in / out sort of sideways!

Hope that helps. Sounds like you have bags of space :thumb:

Yep think so GF viewing on Friday- says 8'4" but not sure if that's door or total width inside :?:

Anyway sounds as if he will squeeze in  as long as he's out the elements not bothered what wizardry is needed to get in and out - last house garage was 12 FT pure luxury :-(

garage width

I've just measured mine it is exactly 7 feet wide at the narrowest point (the door frame) there is 2 to 3 " of clearance at each mirror as I pass through. I have a piece of carpet on the wall so that I don't damage the door when opening it. I also have a small weight hanging in a string from the garage roof, when it touches the windscreen it means I am in far enough to get the door shut without driving into my (also beloved) Ducati! :D

LOL
I like the weighted string technique. The reason I laugh is that my car has about a 1 inch clearance at the rear for my roller shutter door to close. I simply drive my car in until it 'rests' against my beer overspill fridge door. This is a great way to reduce my alcohol intake, as if I feel the need for more beer midway through the evening I would have to reverse my car out and back in again, which I have done occasionally :)

Gollum, the best solutions are usually the simplest! I like the 'trapped beer' idea, I can see the headline in the medical journal "Save your liver, buy a 911". :D

I'm thinking along the lines of space to build a new timber garage, any recommendations?
