Frozen Map

Anyone ever seen an issue where the MAP freezes? The Sat Nav continues to work and omits the turn-by-turn instructions, however, the actual Map position is stuck.

This happened to me yesterday coming out of Brent Cross. Once I removed the key and re-started the car, all was back to normal again so nothing major to worry about. Just curious if anyone knows root cause?

I can't tell you the reason. But it's a computer in the end. :D

Cheers guys.

Ironically, I work as an I.T Manager; the simple Ctrl+Alt+Del command should further fuel the argument that all us guys do is "reboot it".

LOL I sure hope those Sat Navs don't run on windows :)

I had this for the first time today, how do I 'reboot' it as turning the unit off then on again just puts me back to a frozen map! I presume ejecting the disc may do it? Is there a PCM button sequence to do it? :)

For your 997.1 PCM2.1, hold down 1, 4 and 8 on the numeric keypad at the same time for at least 2-seconds.

I ve experienced similar things when the battery is low
when the battery is low the car shuts down the sat nav, once you give the car a run and the battery starts to store charge, the pcm becomes slow, then the next time the cars started it starts to behave again
