Evening, not posted for a while...
Anyway, I've got all four wheels off to replace the brake lines for copper and braided items. I figured I'd take the arch liners off to throughly clean and dinitrol wax the inner arches and noticed a small amount of rust forming from the inside-out round the edge of the front arches. I found there to be quite a lot of trapped s**t between the strip of foam and the crease of the arches.
I suspect the foam is supposed to create a seal between the arch and the liner to prevent water egress behind the liner. Surely the foam is acting like a sponge and trapping water? Does the foam need to be on? Has anyone else removed it and left it off or replaced it with something less sponge-like??
Si.
