Fix for alarm sounding after flat battery

Hi,
Recently had my 993 returned after months in the bodyshop. Battery flat. Charging or connecting a charged battery caused the alarm to sound continuously.
There is loads of information relating to various 933 alarms out there on the Internet but a fix took me a lot of reading. So here's a fix for 993s with alarms the same as mine :)

It must be made clear that this fix applies to a particular 993 alarm configuration. This was the main problem when trying to find a solution, 993s have various alarm configurations depending on country and options.

I believe that the alarm configuration on my 993 is in the minority.

Spec:
1996 Carrera coupe Varioram UK spec
No remote control keyfob. Ie no remote to disable alarm or open the central locking
Immobiliser fitted – Has small slot in dashboard for small PCB type key. This is inserted and then removed before starting engine.
Please note, my understanding is that the immobiliser is in no way connected to the alarm.

To clear the alarm fault and stop the horn continuously sounding...

Connect a charged battery (Alarm will sound)
Operation a door lock using the key twice.
Alarm will reset.

Very simple in the end but not easy to find. Hopefully this information will save some time for others :D

Cheers for that. Exactly the same as fitted to mine. Will make a note for future reference :thumb:
