Hi guys and dolls thinking 🤔 of buying a carbon seat to replace my drivers standard seat in a 997.2 2010.
My seat has memory....which I am not worried about.
Just want to know if this original carbon seat from porsche (997) is a simple plug and play.
Here's hoping for some positive replies.
Cheers

from what I recall OEM seats are a direct swap

Evening James
Have you sat in one first? The reason I ask is that I found carbon seats in a 992 GT3 RS painful to even sit in, let alone drive in. And I've driven in 2 formula 3000 cars, and an LMP car, in non fitted carbon seats and found them fine, so its not something I'm especially sensitive to. Sometimes less is more.....

Hi....cheers for that i'am still in two minds about the purchase.
As you say it's food for thought.
I have sat in carbon seat...I must say they sit you lower than standard, seats but I have a cure fit that.
At present my only concern is wiring up for air bag under seat.
Cheers

Is it a folding bucket you're thinking of, the fixed back type ie CGT, or the later, height adjustable fixed backs? All different propositions. Some complain immediately, others say the folding ones are comfy enough for road trips through Europe.

I suppose, if you don't like it, you can always resell without much loss...

If you're referring to the Carrera GT carbon buckets, they will bolt straight in but you'll likely get an airbag light. The airbags in you comfort seats is in the seat where as the airbag for the CGT buckets is in the door card where you likely have the doorbin.

I have no issues with the position and comfort of these seats in my GT3 - they are sublime!

If you are talking about the folding carbon buckets (997 GT2 , 991), they are a straight swap: all bolts for the mounting rails and the connectors for the airbags etc swap straight over. I'm a big fan of the set I had fitted to my 997.
