Well back from Afghan now and have just sold my car, so the hunt for a c4s is starting, budget is 16.5k and i would like 70k miles or less, rest of spec doesnt really bother me although BOSE would be nice and PSE deffo wouldnt say no to ;) Ideally in black, blue or silver.

Did have my eye on a few but they have all been sold unfortunately, just hope they arent too rare now with summer kicking in as i really want one soonish, alternative if cant find one is possible Cayman S.

Cant wait!!!

Mate,
was in the same boat last year when i came back from Afghan. Luckily though i bought mine on last day of R&R in Sept then picked it up 1 day after i landed at Brize end of Oct.
Although im not knocking the Cayman, i nearly bought one, go for the C4S. After all if its going to be your first and possibly only Porsche then it has to be a 911, and a C4S short of a Turbo is one of the better ones.
At your price though be careful. Luckily i had about £23-4k to buy mine so you maybe looking at leggy mileage examples. PSE is a must but you can go down the cheaper aftermarket exhausts later. Any more advice give me ashout.

What mileage was yours when you bought it if you dont mind me asking? I do only want the C4S the Cayman is a last resort at the moment.

I have done various research on here the last couple of months so im not going in blind, although im sure il have many questions before i actually purchase one ;)

Now the main purpose of this post was if any members know of any examples within my citeria could they please point me in the right direction :thumb:

Many thanks all

Andy

Agreed if you really want a 996 C4S hang in there otherwise unless Cayman blows you away you wont be happy. Although the Cayman S is a very nice car and handles superb. I've seen really good ones for £15k with approved warranty still on it

Mileage on mine was 57k with a new engine fitted by Porsche Guildford at 52k due to IMS failure. Ive still got 10 months of Porsche Warranty on the engine to run so thats good piece of mind.

The Cayman is an attractive car and probably underestimated by many. Well worth a close look, especially if there is some warrenty remaining.

have seen this and going to view tomorrow :)

any body viewed it or know anything about it?
