Thieves broke into my garage last night. The car is still there thankfully. But they took a set of cookie cutters, a cheap torque wrench and the top of a jack stand - why???!!. The annoying part about it (other than not feeling that my car is safe anymore) is that the scum stood on my car to get to a shelf. They then put a scratchy box on the roof and scraped it about.Fortunately the bonnet seems to be quite tough so there are no dents - I'm hopefull that the scratches will sand and polish out. Is it any more difficult to do this on a car with a clear coat?If there is a funny side - it's that they also took a can of swepco and 3 cans of castrol GTX - all full of used oil.If you're in the UK keep an eye out for some very good condition black cookie cutters - 2 with Fulda tyres and 2 with Pirelli P6000's - and new centre caps too.

B'stards.

Reminds of the dialogue in Pulp Fiction between the Drug Dealer and Travolta about "F***ing with a man's automobile"

It's just wrong.

I'm sorry to hear that too, that sounds like kids. My neighbour had his garage broken into, two down from mine and they just scattered his tools around. Ihave another friend whose Ducati was stolen recently , they wrenched the door of it's hinges to get in , they left his 911 alone.

Really sorry to hear the bad news. I guess at least the car is still with you. I hoe you manage to sort the scratches out easily. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about the car - police should focus more on this tyoe of crime than speeding

Scum of the earth!! Its the damage to the car thats really annoying. The wheels are just a minor hassle.

Just gave the car a wash after the police took some footprints off it. Damage isn't too bad - just minor scuffs. Those bonnets are pretty tough.

It's always nice to look at a freshly washed 911 - feel better now.

When I had a house alarm installed I decided to set up a radio link to the garage to alarm that as well. Wasn't that expensive, maybe £200 for the link. The whole thing is controllable from the house and has given me peace of mind. In theory, the alarm should also scare off any non-professional thieves who are just larking around, should it come to that.

Unfortunately my garage is in a block a couple of houses away. I'm looking at battery powered alarms thoguh.
