exhaust swap

would a 997 exhaust system fit a 996 with a few simple modifications. are manifold studs and muffler box mountings same. had 50 / 50 replys some saying engine and mountings exactly the same and others that they are completely different. more choice of 997 exhaust used and after market as well as significantly cheaper , any info so I don't buy something that wont fit.

I don't know the answer but have wondered the same. Weird how they are cheaper but I guess it's because the cars are not old enough yet for all the silencers to be rotting away (like 996's)
