Why would anyone go for these Porsche oils as opposed to the Mobil equivalent, which I'm guessing would be cheaper?

Just looked up the prices, WTF!

Just in case you’re not aware a lot of modern oils have a very low ZDDP content (Zinc DialkylDithiophophate) this makes them more eco friendly and fine for modern multi valved engines with lower valve spring pressures and roller tappets.
Not ideal on these old engines with flat rockers and higher spring rates, causes pitted cams and rockers, ideally a ZDDP content between 1200-1400 ppm would be a good choice.
Most of these modern fully synthetic oils are nearer 800 ppm
