Effective Leather Cleaners?

Are there any really good leather cleaners out there?
The previous owner of my 993 must have been a chinmey sweep with a washing phobia as the steering wheel is ingrained with greasy dirt.
I've tried the usual high street stuff, but most are light creams meant for conditioning and feeding leather upholstery. I need something much stronger.
I did try a solvent (on a hidden bit) which removed the dirt AND the leather colour!
Has anyone used Zymol's leather cleaner?- I've used their exterior wax system and thought it was crap.

we use zymol products on our cars and the leather cleaner is quite good,

The best way to clean dirty leather we've found is

a bucket of hot soapy water preferably lux flakes, rubber gloves and give the leather a good scrub using a sponge/ rag and a nail brush, the use a good conditioner or connolyy hide feed which you can get from a saddlers or horse tack shop,

If it sounds aggressive remember how the horseee types scrub their tack, then condition it afterwards, any doubts ask a girl with a pony, but try not to get arrested for Kerb Crawling

The hide feed buts some of the natural oils back and protects the leather, i know of some valeters who use traffic film remover or brake cleaner but I wouldn't recommend it as i think its too harsh

The Zymol wax system is great If you know how to use it properly,

Follow the instructions to the letter and there is no better finish, the work is in the cleaning and cleansing the waxing is the easy part, but you must polish in straight lines JUST LIKE SANDING WOOD NO CIRCULAR MOTIONS

I don't sell it but won't use anything else on my cars

Zymol wax for the outside and the leather treat worked very well for me.

Suggest you didn't wax properly as you must be the only person I have met who has used the word Zymol and Crap in the same sentence.
