I am considering an ECU chip for my 993. I have looked at Superchips and the AMD offering (I assume Sportec).

Anyone else I should consider?

Thanks

Robert.

I had mine done by JZ Machtec. They work with a German Porche race team and use them to do the ECU mapping. I did stage 1 taking the TT up to 490 bhp. Am very pleased!

Robert are you talking about dropping in a generic mapped chip or actually having your ecu mapped specifically for your car?

If it is the latter would recommend 9M.

AMD is their own..... Sportech options are £££'s

I recommend them, BUT only if Andy does the work and their labour rates are competitve

I also hear good things about 9M

if not try McCains, best Microchips around ! :D

The best chip shop round my way is just down the road from Type 911 - or am I mixing my threads up?

From the far-too-much-time I've spent researching this recently it would appear that Ninemeister is the best UK-based option. No affilation blah blah blah...

It's certainly where my 993C4S will be going once I've got the measure of it - only had it a couple of days!

I think I'd want to go the bespoke route rather than just plugging one in. I will give JZs and 9m a ring at some point. It would appear that the real benefits are to be had with Turbocharged cars.

Anyway, I've got to get the front end respray out of the way first- in to Specialised Paintwork tomorrow! So more expenditure aside from the annual service may not be politic with 'er indoors...

Thanks

Robert.

nothing like a remap on a Turbo... how I miss MORE BOOST !

FYI, all Amd remaps are custom....... with any choice would be good
