It is a 2005 year GT3 996 and if I push the window down button it seems inordinately slow in coming down. Proabably half the speed of any other car, almost as if the rubber seal is preventing it from coming down (or going up for that matter).

The car is garaged and not subjected to the elements and I do not do a lot of miles in her. I bought a new battery at the beginning of this year (Bosch) and she is always on trickle charge when not in use.

Do I need to look inside the door panel and lubricate something - window rubbers for instance :dont know: - WD40.

Or shall I just be more patient :dont know: .

Get in there and check the window regulator and runners.

Next stop: broken cables!

I thought you would help. Thank you. I did search four pages worth of 'windows' and see that you helped on most of the window problems although the majority were related to micro switch problems.

Will the window still work with broken cables? I assume the regulator and runners will just require lubrication then - grease or WD40?

The cables pull the windows, so no!

I meant mechanical cables, not electrical.

You will need to inspect the various components' condition for free running: my main concern would be corrosion, which is not possible to cure with lubrication (...although it could have been a preventative!)
