The opening weekend for the 2013 Britcar season saw cold and wet conditions that set a challenge for tyre choice among the competitors in three separate championships. It was dry enough for qualifying on the Dunlop slicks but by the start of the 3 hour MSA British Endurance race, rain spray and fading light combined to produced difficult conditions for the drivers.
Veteran F1 driver Mike Wilds teamed up with his son Anthony and Ian Lawson to pilot a BMW M3 in the Production Cup Championship and grabbed a class win – Mike only got his renewed license from the MSA the day before. Michael Symons together with ex-Carrera Cup driver Keith Webster took the overall win in their Geoff Steel Racing BMW M3.

Both migrating from the BRSCC Porsche Championship, Frenchman Guillaume Gruchet joined Swiss-based Paul Moraviec in their Newbridge Motorsport-run 987 Boxsters to compete in the new Production Sportscar Series. Some pit stop timing mixups in the first race, and a delayed tyre change for Gruchet in the second, robbed both drivers of victory, which went to the Porsche 993 piloted by Richard Bennett in both of their races.
