That it appears all the new Porsches 996s' in the UK break our current C&U regs?

I didn't until today, according to the Bristol branch of the ESVA/VOSA the side repeaters on the latest Porsches do not pass the strict rules regarding visibility from the rear, the repeater can be obscured by the tyre being turned.

I have E-mailed Porsche for their input, it will be a bit galling to spend £75k on a car for it to fail the MOT due to a bit of 'over-enthusiastic' scrutineering.

Blimmin 'eck

Who cares if you cant see the front repeaters from the rear? That's what the rear indicators are for!

According [I believe] to 'Howard' of the Bristol ESVA/VOSA if you sit on the floor somewhere behind the car and the driver of the car turns the wheel, the indicator disappears and the car cannot be considered safe for English roads?

So stupid

Maybe porsche will have to put the repeater on the other side of the wheel arch for the 997/987.

I have contacted Porsche GB in the hope that they may be able to point out the stupidity if this 'standpoint'... madness!

'Howard the Civil Serveant'... doesn't rank with 'Attila the Hun'... but I suspect he is just as bolshy!!!

There is a simple fix for this. Stick the car in reverse and drop the clutch at 5000rpm while Howard is sat on the floor...
