The fact its a cat d would put some people off,but for many reasons and the fact that as these cars get older it becomes less of an issue but you need to check if, why and how a cat d was repaired.if its all done right it should never be an issue, lots of people drive cars that have been mashed and repaired far worst than cat d or c,but becase they were never subjected to a Insurance claim the subsequent owners are none the wiser

What would concern me is that someone has welded s wings on a nb car, can't see that being to popular

Seems a little bit over priced too, but I'm no boo so who knows

Dont know it, but yes it looks great and reasonably priced for an S. I suppose it depends on history and what has been done to it, and if it had an accident report to support the Cat D and had a HPI inspection and if it has been removed from the condition alert register.....?!

But looks sweet, however it has been around for a few weeks now so if it was a good one it would have been snapped up...

Have you phoned to make sure its still for sale? I found loads still advertised but were sold!

That's because it isn't :D Add £10k for a real one.

As mentioned above it's an NB which has been messed about with.

I know that but it has not got wide body rear wings either .so a turbo spoiler and turbo front PU

Narrow-bodied car with probably aftermarket front bumper and turbo wing. Wheels don't look quite right for OE, but you can never tell with photos.

Rightly or wrongly, buyers don't like CAT records against a car especially 'high cost' because everyone knows it will be a nightmare to sell-on.

Therefore IMO about 6k overpriced if in good condition underneath, but I wonder about the condition of the:

heatshields
PU supports
cam-covers
chassis-rails
front/rear screen surrounds
air-con working?

..so value could easily be around 15k if in poor condition.

I wonder what amount the dealer bought it for :?:

There aren't many worse places than Luton to buy a second hand car. Especially a Cat D which is pretending to be something it's not. Just saying...

Sorry, but it looks a bit of a dogs dinner, definitely not worth that sort of money.
And I somehow have a distrust of someone who would stick extra Porsche badges under the side repeaters! :D

So, in summary, a Cat D Narrow Body for £25k in Luton.

I'm ooout.[/quote]

cheers chaps - wont bother viewing - just dipping my toe in - extra badges and some incorrect details apart - i like the colour and the general appearance - i might phone the guy and offer 15k - joke

If it is close to you, I would certainly go and view it.

Why? It will give you a yardstick to measure other viewings against.

I'll go against the grain here a little here and say I think it looks like a really nice car.

Great colour, like the interior, looks in great order.

Cat D wouldn't put me off, but I would certainly want to pay about £5k less than a non cat-D as it would put others off when trying to sell.

I would naturally check that the 'usual' bits and pieces are all good, front and rear screens, nothing leaking or badly rusty, drives ok, sounds ok etc.

The milage is ok and provided it had full history, invoices, and no gaps in paperwork I would honestly pay max £19-20k for it no problem.

Having said that, I wonder if anyone has let the seller know that it ISN'T a widebody S and is therefore worth £20k max with the Cat D and all that.

(Edited to add: If I was to sell mine I would probably ask £20k 'no offers' as a fair price so maybe a Cat D at the same price wouldn't be so cool...)

Thoughts on this car please

Hi this car has been for ale for a while, the dealer is very non responsive, does any one have any history or thoughts on it
