I am thinking about selling my “comfortable” 993 targa and making my own 911 that I have been dreaming up for a while now.
I would prefer to start with a decent 993 rolling shell and go from there.
I have two requests.

Does anyone no of a company in the
uk
who makes / distributes carbon fibre panels for 911’s, preferably 993’s

How / who do you approach when you want to buy an Insurance write off.
I would like to get hold of a fire damaged car preferably rather than an accident damaged / recovered one.

My definition of making my own 911 is up for interpretation, I know which companies I want to do what mechanically etc but I am happy to get my hands dirty etc…….

Paul

There is somebody on rennlist who built a carbon fibre 2.7 RS replica. Sorry I can't give more info, ask on rennlist.

wouldn't a water-damaged car be even better? Heat could do some serious damage to the frame

Fire damage..

Will make the metal thinner and weaker, plus corrosion may be a long term problem. None of which is an attractive proposition for a 'hard Porsche' to keep a while.

Take a look in the back of E and M for damage, plus various salvage auctions are about, if you dont mind lhd look in germany as there are many more Porsche to choose from.

Carbon fibre ..I thought Tecart were the boys for that?

This month's 911 & Porsche World mag has got an advert in the classifieds for damaged rhd 993's, could be worth a look. They are PH Sports Cars, 01332 799298.

Thanks all for your comments. I have found a company in the US who can amke me anything I want in Carbon and ship it to the UK which I thought would be the most difficult area. He has given me prices for the "trunk" lid, door, rear spoiler and I am waiting for the prices for the front wings - front andrear bumper. I will tell you of my progress in terms of a donor car.
