Cabrio vs Coupe 996 4S

Hi folks,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma here...

I'm more for buying the Coupe  but the Mrs wants the Cabrio  for the summer days! I also have a 10 month old kid :)

A few questions:

Has anyone had any issues with getting a baby seat fitted in the rear seats of the Cabrio, knowing that they sit more upright due to the space required for the folding roof? The Coupe looks better suited to adults in the back...however, I read that there is more headroom in the back of the Cabrio with the top up!

Can anyone recommend installing the baby seat in the front rather than in the bucket seats? Would my Mrs fit comfortably in the back, she's 5ft5.

What about the wind in the Cabrio, would my kid suffer past a certain mph?

Appreciate your input on this! :?

If the baby seat fits in the back securely, then go for the Cabrio and everyone is happy. However, unless it's a trip down to the shops, I wouldn't put anyone over 5ft in the back of a Cab because of the upright seating position. I was sitting in the back of my friends C4 Cab for 30 mins during a drive around London and it was hell.

thanks for the info, looking at a pic of the back seats of the cabrio it does look awkward...I mean my poor kid's head will slump forward and he'll never sleep on long trips!!!

I could always just get the coupe with a sunroof! Next best thing ;)

If anyone else could shed some light on keeping a kid comfortable in the reat seats of a cabrio let me know!

You haven't mentioned Targa :?:

yeah but I don't really like the look of them for some reason...also I don't believe they ever released a 4S version of the targa? That wide-ass always wins in my book! 8)

The rear seatbacks on a cab are much more upright than a coupe ,so not sure how suitable they may be for a child seat. Best thing is to take jnr and the car seat to a dealer who has both in stock, and try them for size.

Don't forget, you get the little rear boot with the coupes and folding seats too!

that's true, I don't think the Cabrio is very practical with a kid! So, a coupe it is with a nice sunroof :)

My Mrs won't be too happy though! :wack:

When are they ever!! :floor:

This picture was taken about 2 years ago when my youngest was 2, and both girls love the cab. For the winter you have the hardtop, so best of both worlds :D
