Hi I am going to look at a black 924 on friday that has been stood for a year, and would like some advise as to what to look for as I have never owned one. Also is a 924 a bit of an old man's porsche not meaning to upset anyone though. My old man is great. Any help much appreciated.

Nothing wrong with an entry level Porsche, however if it has been stood for a year, it has to be for nothing, as you will have so many problems.

The brake fluid should be changed before driving it anywhere, as will the gearbox oil, engine oil, and the appropriate filters. All the brakes will be sized, and forcing it to drive will do more damage than it is worth. The clutch will probably need changing, and there may have been detoriation in the engine block and gearbox.

Even for nothing, the cost would be very high to get on the road, and you can buy really nice ones for as little as £1500.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck whatever you decide

Thanks for the advice. A long MOT is a must then. Thanks again
