Bug removal

Just wondering if anyone has any special tips for getting rid of ground in bugs from paintwork. The front and wingmirrors of my polar silver 993 are covered and whilst I appreciate I should probably clean them off every time I drive the car quickly in the summer, I never get round to it.

Any help would be gratefully received. Cheers,

Adam

probably somewhat cheaper than phils option
- you can buy from halfords a tube of what look like baby wipes - they are specifiaclly for removing bugs - and they seem to work a treat.

Alternatively you can buy a sponge covered in a special type of netting which also works- again from halfords.

Just avoid the boy racers in the car park

Make sure you give it a good soak through with water/shampoo before cleaning so you don't have to rub too hard. One of the advantages of Amourfend is that you don't have to worry about damaging the paintwork when scrubing the bugs off.

Can definitely recommend the clay bar. Works a treat!

lehm clay bar and a couple of coats of titanium to stop them sticking again. Expensive, but well worth the effort, plus you have to added bonus of avoiding Halfords

Once you have got the bugs off,why not apply Swissol PTFE wax. This is PTFE as in non-stick pans.It works a treat and it is easy to remove the bugs afterwards!
