Brake light switch

I all,

I've had my car nearly 6 months and the only thing I regret it not buying one sooner. Before I have a go at trying to fix a fault myself I thought I'd run it by the experts.

A few weeks ago I had a PMS/ABS warning come up when braking, this cleared when I turned off and on again. I've had the warning a few times since and have the car booked in at Project 9 (Marden) for a service at the end of the month & was going to ask them about it.

But last night, with the car backed up against my garage I noticed that the brake lights flicker on & off when depressing the brake pedal. To be exact they come on for about a 3rd of the depression then go off until the pedal if fully depressed. The car also won't start unless the lights are on (Press Brake warning).

So getting to my point, does this sound like a 'brake light switch' issue? And does anyone know how difficult the switch is to change?

Thanks
Colin
