Both sidelights gone

Hi,

I'm a bit stuck with this one.

2004 996 C4S

I noticed that one of my sidelights had gone recently and today I checked and both have now gone.

I've removed the headlight enclosure and removed the sidelight bulb and it's connector:

I presumed the bulb itself was removable (and replaceable) but it looks like I broke it.

I'm struggling to source a replacement for this. My car has litronic lights apparently.

I was also wondering about whether the fuses were the culprit since both sidelights have gone (albeit not at the same time). Is it worth going in this direction I wonder?

Are you talking about the side lights or main beam. The bulb in the pic is not a sidelight bulb but is a high power halogen bulb (50w). I think the litronics have gas discharge for dipped beam, then on main beam a high power halogen illuminates too. The sidelight is a much lower wattage smaller bulb around 5w .I think the pic you've put up is the main beam halogen.

Just been thinking about this and that bulb may actually be the fog light bulb. It is a halogen H3

Thanks for the reply, it's this one which I think is the sidelight/parking light? No light when I turn the stick one click.

Think you're right, it's the fog light. So where's the parking light bulb then!?

Isn't it the tiny 5W bulb under the mail headlight one?

Yep thats the sidelight you have circled next to the headlight.. As mentioned previously the other circle is the front foglight
