I restored this last year. Its a 1978 escort mexico. It is absolutely nut and bolt perfect and was stored away for 22 years before I bought it.Unlike most of these cars it has an unfettered history from day 1,bill of sale, the lot.
These are pretty rare with this provenence now and are changing hands for about the price of a "user" 996 turbo.I bet this brings back a few memories from users on here. :thumb:

Here's the pics.

Last year I took it to the "lakes tour" which runs from the heaves hotel near Kendal and luckily managed to snag a couple of pots.

Nice job dude, most of the ones I see have had cossie motors stuffed into them! Lol

Nice...but I hope it was cheap, because the steering wheel is in the wrong place...

Cracking car, back when I had hair and a much smaller waistline I was torn between these and the JPS Capri.....

Couldn't afford either of course....... :)

Cracking car Adrian.

Great stuff. It will be nice when its finished :thumb: I was more an XR3 man myself

Very very nice :thumb:

What a beautiful example :thumb:

Nice job :thumb:

Reminds me of my first car, an Escort 1300 Sport MKII.

Reminds me of my T reg MK2 RS2000 which was black.

Followed by an XR3i which I sold after two months and got an RS1600i instead.

My brother recently sold his Escort Cosworth to get a MK2 Focus RS

We are a Ford family :)

Lovely colour. Signal Yellow.

KED 495P was my first car, round light mk2, 1.3, buckets, 4inch straight through, stage 2 head, webbers, yellow/black roof....it got robbed before I passed my test! :floor:

Very nice m8 :thumb:

Wow beautiful car !!! I own it's younger brother in Sebring red and an origional BDA at the engine builders to replace the x-flow one day.Wish mine was in that condition even though it's very straight, solid and tidy not in the same league as that beauty , you should be well proud of that work of art

Its beautiful Adrian, and I closely followed your restoration thread on Rallye Sport Escorts, you done a fantastic job.
I've a MK2 RS2000 myself as well as the 996 turbo, it can be quite strange steeping out of one and into the other

If yours is worth as much as that I wonder what this would fetch. :?:

Cars from the 70's :cloud9: when British Telecom Yellow was all the rage. I had an 'R Reg' Opel Manta in that colour with a black vinyl roof.

The only 'T Reg' car I had was my first Porsche, FRX395T, a silver 924.

NB: I'd like to point out that all the 70's cars I owned (about 10) were actually purchased in the 80's. I'm not that old.
