Hi,

My 2010 3.0 diesel has arrived.
Nice spec, really happy.

However the auto stop start function is annoying.
How can i stop it??

if there is a way please describe how to do it.

Otherwise i have to press the button every time i start the car.
The suspension settings stay the same when the car is put off then on,
but the stop start wont.

many thanks

After a few weeks you get used to it. Then it feels wierd when you drive something without it. I now hate sitting at traffic lights with the engine running in a car without it.

Is there REALLY not a disable? :o :o

Vicki's car (pug) has stop start, it gets right on my multiple tits, so I reach under the wheel and disable it every time. It resets every time you turn the ignition off so she never knows (same with the sports button I always hit on her auto gearbox).

I figure you HAVE to have a disable, I mean what if you were on a motorway jam, in the dark say, needing a heater, or in sun needing aircon? The battery might need 1000 starts on a five hour jam if it has to start each time you roll a wheel (while sweating/freezing whatever the case may be).
:?:

Stop/start can be disabled, but has to be done each time you start the car for the first time. Having to press one button after turning the ignition is not really that difficult... :dont know:

As to long traffic jams in high temperatures, the engine will only stop if there is sufficient juice in the battery to meet demand. So if the aircon is on full blast or the battery charge is low then the engine will typically stay on to maintain the necessary charge.

In manual cars with stop/start (e.g. mini), the engine won't stop unless you are in neutral and the clutch is released, thereby providing the driver with an alternative method of preventing the car from saving little bunnies...

They all have a disable, you have to hit it each time you start the car.

The ECU monitors the car, things like battery and cabin temperature and won't stop if it will have an effect.

If its a hot day with the air con running you will find the engine doesn't stop, or will cut in again to keep the cabin temp down!

You quickly get used to it. Its very weird at first but after a while you go back to a 'normal' car and then it weird when the engine doesn't stop and you sit there thinking about all that wasted fuel.

+1

That's what I was thinking. And each time it get's dark, I press another switch to turn on the lights......really not that difficult.
