Anti corrosion warranty

Given all the comments that one reads on the various Porsche forums about trying to wriggle out of warranty obligations, does anyone have any experience of what Porsche are like in respect of the corrosion warranty? I've found a little bit of rust below the rear screen, and pulling up the screen rubber, it looks like this is something of a water trap and an ideal breeding ground for the rust bugs. The car was first registered in late '97, so iirc should fall well within the guarantee period.

Has the corrosion/body inspection thingy in the book been stamped every year?

If not, you may struggle :(

Hi Richard

My C2S had a small 5p size rust bubble on the front skuttle panel so I took it to my local OPC and they took some pics checked my service book was stamped up and booked it in. Job done. I have to say they were crap at respraying it and over diluted the paint and also put the window seal in the wrong away but I managed to get that sorted.

All you need is your long life warranty part of your service history to be fully stamped up. The window seal areas are the most common places for rust to get in so they do usually cover them. As long as there is no evidence of respray or damage that may have caused the rust, you should be fine. Let me know if you need anymore info...
