Hi Everyone !

I think my tactic for persuding the wide about the 911 is going to be aiming for my ultimate dream and then seeing where I end up.

Being optimistic (it will be my first Porchse) Is it really much more expensive to run and service a 996 Turbo than say a Carrera 4 / 4s ?

Also how much more expensive are, say brake, tyres, clutches etc ?

Might have to settle for 4s in the new year ! I just love that phat ass.

Not sure your other half would like being referred to as the 'wide' even though it might have been applicable of late given your good news.

The C4S truly is the best looking 911 either in 993, 996 or 997, actually the 964 Celebration model is also wide body and looks fab.

When I start her up in the morning she sounds really throaty, and loses that noise once she is warm, I will be investing in a switchable exhaust in the new year.

Turbos do go through brakes a lot faster, there so many air scoops they suck moisture in and your breaking a car with 400bhp++

and its £456 to change the spark plugs every 24,000 mile service in a turbo

as against £161 every 48,000 mile service on a normally aspirated car

But the questions still remains.........Is it really 2,3,4 times more expensive to run a turbo car?
