So it seems Ryder cup fever is on this weekend, and we ought to consider a golf competition for forum members. Novices should be welcome (if they don't slow the play too much).

1st prize- ? donation of some sort from the Admin of the forum

Runner up- ?Some lessons in driving (911's of course)

3rd prize- Ride in someones fast 911

Closeset to Pin- ? Some nice whisky from Islay

Worst score - Some golf lessons

ETC Open for discussion

If everyone who is keen for a round can reply to this thread, we should get a round in before the darkness and chill falls upon us.

Look forward to your replies

Where were you thinking for the Golf - a bit closer than Ireland I hope!

I could arrange a weekend at Royal Cinque Ports, Deal (a great course on the east coast of Kent). It may be a long way to go for some, but I can also arrange overnight accomodation in a private house (not expensive). We could all arrive Friday evening (say) play foresomes on Saturday and singles on sunday - similar to Ryder cup format. If there is enough interest, I'll call the club and work out the cost.

we will have to look to organising a golf day for all levels...

I played twice now, once 1994 then again a 9 hole game last summer, just managed double par 'ish after some quick lessons from my bro...

not sure about your prizes idea....

Prizes are just suggestions moderator saheb!!

All levels are welcome, perhaps pairing up with equivalent or slightly better players so that some tips can be handed down in addition to 911 banter.

Seems like interested parties exist, perhaps extend to family and friends to increase numbers.

Please reply to this thread so that numbers and contacts can be generated

Count me in as a possibility for the aircooled

although i'm not very good. can just about go round under 100 if it's not too tough a course.

Will

We have 10 people intereseted so far for a weekend golf session with 2 rounds and a night of drinking inbetween.

Wolly can sort out accomodation at his for a nominal fee and golf at his local club in Kent.

Can we have some availabilty dates please, Nov/Dec/Jan?

Is the weather going to be an issue for anyone?

Where exactly Wolly in Kent??

Please reply to this thread if interested
