I'm thinking of getting Adrian to find me a good 993 for £30k.

(I don't really have the time or expertise, but his website tells a good story).

Anyone else used him? Comments?

I bought my car through him ('89 3.2 Carrera) and have been very happy with it. From what I can gather he has a pretty good reputation on the import side of things (haven't heard anything bad), but is not necessarily the cheapest out there, do try and haggle a bit (foolishly I got over excited and forgot to haggle !). I would say though, that he was very happy to tell me what I wanted to hear (he is a car salesman after all) and a few things that he told me on subsequent inspection showed themselves not to be entirely true i.e. car had never been painted etc. - just little things but it niggled me a bit. He also said he'd post me some new bonnet struts which he never did. Things that aren't too important if the car overall is right.

Do try to be as sure as you can that you know what you are looking at - I know that slightly defeats the object of having someone source a car for you, but if you have time do go to your nearest Porsche specialist and have a look at cars across the whole of the price range for the model you're after. Do as much reading as you can, ask questions on this forum (there are some pretty knowledgable people on here !) etc. If you can sound as knowledgable as possible there is less chance of the wool being pulled over your eyes !

The rule remains, as ever, make sure you get a PPI done - Adrian will be happy for you to do this (and can arrange it for you if you want).

Bought a 3.2 carrera (unseen) from him a few years back.It was exactley as he described and have had no problems with it what so ever.He charges a little over the odds but he does find good cars..Asked him recently to find me a 993, but found one elsewhere before he could do so. i have always found him very upfront and easy to deal with..
