Acoustic alarm/ central locking problems

Hi

Would welcome advice on the problem I have.

Battery was completely flat after not having driven for 2 months. Recharged battery and upon reconnection the acoustic alarm goes off (the car has aftermarket alarm also). Not much advice in guidebook other than this may be caused by the central locking being out of sync or something due to flat battery. Battery is now fine just can't switch off the acoustic alarm.

Have disconnected battery and wondered how to cure this.

Thanks in advance.

What make is the alarm?

Avital - maxx1

This is fine it is just the acoustic alarm which is going off and the guide book doesn't help much.

Never heard of that alarm, maybe a internet search may get u some more info.

To stop the alarm sounding, before you put the battery terminals on, put the key in the ignition and turn to position 2 and leave it there whilst u connect up the battery, that should stop the alarm sounding

You could try to lock and unlock the car using the key in the door lock. This will probably resync the Porsche door lock /alarm control module.
Cheers,
Tore
