997 Gen2 Cab vs DB9 Volante - Now my DB9 Diary.

You can't beat a Rav4. Japanese know how to knock a car together :thumb:

I always felt the Mazda CX-5 Sport looked a bit plain, could really do with larger wheels :dont know:

Another year goes by and I've still got it.
I've never owned a car for this long I my life and yet I dont have any plans to change it.

Reliability wise:
On the previous MOT they found a crack in the shock absorber spring which really is a consumable part considering the car is 15 years old.
The damper was ok, so they just replaced the springs.

The MOT chap also failed it because the traction control button was not working - it was, but he didn't know you had to hold it down for 5 seconds for safety reasons. I've now got a mark against its MOT history even though there was nothing wrong with it - arse!
Anyway it passed this year with no advisories again.

The ABS sensor issue turned out not to be the £28 Ford sensor but the ring inside the rear hub and I had to replace the entire rear hub.
I did the job myself (easy thing to do) but I had to buy the hub directly from Aston at a cost of..... £395 lol. I was expecting a '1' in front of that.

I've now had the Aston for 5 years and driven it across Europe 4 times and apart from the ABS sensor and the suspension spring its been 100% reliable.

It's my daily driver and I still find it funny to spot someone taking a photo of me whist I'm driving down the road - which happens all the time.

Hi Les

Thanks for the update.

I'm getting married later this year and I plan to buy a nice car to drive to Lake Garda for our honeymoney.

A DB9 is on the shortlist. I'm torn between coupe and convertible. I'd prefer one with the Sport Pack and that tends to be coupes.

Something like this would be suitable:

Although I do enjoy open top driving.

I noticed you only drove 207 miles last year (based on your MOT data), so if you do fancy a change of car, please let me know as I would be very interested in your car.

All the best.

Ive no plans to sell it.
I work from home so there's no commuting and spent most of last year riding motorbikes hence the low miles.
