was reading one of the thread and there was a talk about one of the tricks to know about bore scoring is to look at the emission test in a recent MOT. Cars that are burning oil will register higher emissions. Ones with severe issues will fail. Any guide please about the figures?

Thank you

Ahmed

HC ppm will go up.

No idea on actual figures (and it will be a gradual rise anyway, ie not some specific threshold)

Best bet is to compare with previous MOTs and panic if it becomes a multiple of earlier tests.

Of course this assumes they check the same bank each time.

Stick it up the RHS side one and it will sail through!
