996 turbo - is this normal coolant temp?

Evening all,

Now the weather has warmed up I have noticed the engine temp fluctuate somewhat. When on the move it sits just past dead central:

This morning I travelled down to goodwood for breakfast club meet and ended up sat in traffic for an hour, the temp rose to around this high:

I could hear the fans kick in which brought it closer to the middle of the '0', this would then repeat itself every few mins. Should the fan be kicking in sooner?

I also noticed the oil pressure drop to the lowest I've seen but I would assume the hotter the engine the thinner the oil?

After all this I was welcomed by fresh coolant all around the expansion cap, will be ordering a new cap via porsche tomorrow

Fans

The fans kick in at 105°C actual.

This is within normal, but get the coolant system squared away, otherwise that way overheating lies.

Not much point in discussing exact temps until the system is full and pressurised correctly.

To answer your question.... It looks fine..

If you had a water temp problem an hour in traffic it would have most defiantly of presented itself....

It might start to over heat because of lack of air flow. 32.5 mpg :heat:

Thanks for the replies, the photo with 32.5mpg was a deliberate attempt to see how economic the car can be, have to say I was very impressed!
