After driving my 996 (1998 50k) for a while ( maybe 1hr or so) the clutch pedal starts to squeak, it doesn't seem to cause a problem with the transmission but in heavy traffic it's really quite annoying .
Any clues????

Sh*t!!!
It only seems to be that actual pedal that makes a noise, should I look out for any other symptons??

How much for a new clutch?

you might not need a new clutch - the pedal could just need some lubrication - id get a good indi to check it out.

on my 993 i had the same noise and it was the clutch slave cylinder............which they replaced at the same time as i got a new clutch, but it wasnt the clutch making the squeeking noise if you know what i mean and i didnt need a new clutch because of the noise ....make sense ? :?

Sorry My mistake, I read the thread as heavy clutch pedal, dont ask, I was in the pub at the time.

Appologies

It is probably just the pedal box.

if its from the pedal end you can grease up the spring or get a new spring - quite easy- if its from the gearbox end then it may be the slave cylinder - again relatively easy - as long as the clutch pedal isnt really hard/stiff then your clutch is fine
