996 mk1 gt3 front discs

Can't you fit the bigger discs from the Mk2 gt3? With spacers for the calipers..

Then discs are a bit more affordable : partworks.de

Those are just standard 996 351 409 04 & 996 351 410 04.

Fits;

Porsche 996 Turbo 2001-05 FRONT
Porsche 996 C4S 2001-05 FRONT
Porsche 997 C4S FRONT
Porsche 997 C2S FRONT
Porsche 997 MKII C4S FRONT
Porsche 997 MKII C2S FRONT
Porsche 718C Cayman S / GTS 2.5L FRONT
Porsche 718 Boxster S / GTS 2.5L FRONT
Porsche 991.2 Carrera FRONT

Thanks for clarifying Peter. The first items I've listed in my post above should be the correct Mk1 996 GT3 330 x 34mm items.

seem to suggest the front disc is the same for the 996.1 GT3 and the 997.1 C2 S, and a comparison of the two technical drawings shows them to be the same offset. Can you confirm if this is the case ?

Brembo 09.C877.11 cross reference to the Porsche 996 351 409 04 & 996 351 410 04

They fit 996 Turbos which have been around for so long that surely someone would have spotted they also fit a GT3 MK1 front and would either sell them or have fitted them?

Porsche number for the GT3 MK1 fronts are 99635140991 & 99635141091

I doubt they are the same!

996 Turbo and 4S have different front uprights to accommodate the front driveshafts, which in turn one would assume means the disc offset is different.
However the 997.1 3.8 S uses the same sized front discs as the 996.1 GT3, the question is are they the same disc or do they too have a different offset ?

Hi chaps thanks for the info. I went on Bremboparts too and got the same i for as you Slippy. It's a bit confusing though as when I attempt to get a retailer to confirm they all say they don't fit and Oem porsche is the only option. Doubly bad is trying to get a contact at Brembo to confirm. Most large company websites do all they can to hide phone numbers and emails, God forbid they have to interact with their consumers.

The odd thing is that when you plug in a 996 gt3 mk1, it only offers the standard brembo disc and not all the alternative upgrades that the 997 can have, like the new ty3 discs. You'd think they'd offer those for the gt3 if they're the same fitment.
Think I'll just have to take a disc off and take some measurements.

Find a retailer close to you with (or get Design911 to send you) a 997.1 C2S 3.8 front disc and compare it with your OE disc to see if it fits. My guess is the mounting face to disc centreline offset will be close but not the same as the Mk1 996 GT3 disc, despite them both being 330mm diameter, 34mm thick discs.

No need to fit it, just put a steel ruler across the face the wheel fits against, and using a vernier gauge or another steel rule, measure the distance from the face the wheel mounts to, to the outer face of the disc. Measure the disc thickness, divide the number by two, add that number on to the measurement taken above, and you have the disc offset centreline. If it's the same as the Mk1 996 GT3 measurement, it should fit. If it's less, it means the 996.1 GT3 items are specific to that car and you're screwed !!

Edit. A look at the images on Rose Passion indicates the offsets are indeed slightly different (as are the prices !!) 😳
