First post this - great forum, got loads of tips.

Due to collect a 996 C4S next week (03 - Lapis Blue/Graphite Grey) and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of an original spec sheet. I am new to this 911 lark and wanted to find out stuff like the differences from C4 to C4S, standard spec (like there is for the 997 on the Porsche web site). The car has PCM, Phone Module plus handset, Park assist and Sunroof but i wanted to find out some detail stuff such as did it come with Xenon as standard?

Any help would be appreciated.

Might want to buy yourself a Porsche brochure / option list from 2003 - get them on e-bay or from specialists like John Drake.

Hi Jeff

I have the options list with prices for all 911,s and boxsters but am having problems scanning it in, if you give me a fax No I will fax it to you. The xenon lights were a £626 extra, lowered sports suspension I believe was standard as was the OBC and full leather. By the way congratulations on buying the best looking Porsche ever.

Regards

Ross

Xenon was non standard

Rear wiper standard (unlike the 997 4S!)

All leather + Electric Seats : Std

Aluminium mini pack : non std

Thanks for the response guys - it looks like John Drake has brochures form 2002, which should cover mine.

Rossco - I agree on the looks, makes me smile thinking about it! What car do you drive?

Ross,

Got the info - exactly what I was after. I will keep an eye on e-bay as well. Have you got the std Exhaust? - I fancy the switchable sports. I am a little disappointed Xenons werent std but already window shopping on Porscheshop.co.uk...... :D

Once again cheers for the info.

Hi Jeff,

Excellent choice of 911 the best :)
although coupe is my bag.

The following may prove useful as I am now 1 month into C4S ownership and have asked every question there is.

The full leather is standard on the C4S interestingly the electric seats with memory for the mirrors and position is standard but there was a choice of sport seats. So you lost the electric functionality and memory for the Sport seat comfort. No charge for this choice.

Xenons not standard and not able to retro fit.

Bose upgrade and PCMII not able to retrofit as I have looked into this and no one is interested in taking on the work stating impossible.

C4S came with sports suspension AKA Turbo and Turbo brakes.

All the dimming mirrors, rain sensor, alu pack are extras.

The CD rack can be removed and a nice SAT NAV after market blaupunkt can be fitted. But your ok there.

Your beast is definately fully loaded, nice find. I went the carbon pack route looks the business. Having some nice 2 pipe look sport exhaust tail pipes added naext week and looking into the carbon fibre neon entry sills.

ah yes one last tip don't run over a pheasant not recommended, this is another story.

Look forward to the pics.

Regards Alan.

This is turning into the C4s appreciation society, I have most of the extra's on mine but not the sports exhausts. If anyone within a reasonable distance from me has the Porshe switchable or any aftermarket set up that does'nt nullify the warranty I would love to have a listen. Maybe Jeff+ any other interested party could come along as well?

Cheers Alan,

Why cant the Xenons be retro fitted? I like Rossco's idea of getting together to hear the exhausts - waterlooville not too far from me. Also the car is a weekender for me as I do far too many miles during the week - anybody recommend a good cover?

Jeff

If you want an indoor cover there is a genuine Porsche one on ebay (its mine I bought 2 by mistake)

I am looking at a C4S Cab and it doesn't have PCM2, however, the dealer (non OPC) says it can be retro fitted for approx £2000. Yet to hear if this is true but will keep you posted if it is. Switchable Sports Exhaust sounds amazing, you will never switch if off. So if that makes it more expensive then i suggest just a standard sports exhaust as it is all you will ever need.

Does anyone know of any other low mileage well spec'd C4S, either coupe of cab? Also has anyone had any experience of Hendon Way Motors?

Hi Know saffron cars had a nicely speccd one as did maranello

Arv, You saw the C4cab at Maranello didn't you, i rejected it too based on mileage, it was lovely though!

The Maranello C4S's are not spec'd enough for me but have you seen the Seal Grey one at Hendon? What was it like?

Has anyone dealt with Hendon Way, are they to be trusted?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? They do seem to have some top notch stock and are helpful on the phone, even though i asked the price of a car and then saw it on the net for £3000 less so wondering what their ethic is like?
