993 Air Con?

Hi All,

Anyone know if it's expensive to get the air con recharged on a 993 Turbo? On hotter days, even with the temperature gauge at minimum and the fan on full I'm not getting that much cold air coming out. The car sat over winter unused before I bought it, so I suspect the seals have dried up a bit and leaked.

Is it an OPC job or could any aircon place do it?

Colin

I got mine done last month - makes an amazing difference. It cost £70 and was done by a guy who trades under the name of Aircon One - he's based in Essex but will travel anywhere in the S.E. Price is dependent upon how much petrol he needs to get to you ! Does a lot of work on Porsches and is genuinely cheap. I found him on the internet here.....

Edinburgh is perhaps a little far for him to travel...

However it sounds like it's not too difficult, so I might not have to resort to the OPC...

Colin,

I've just had my aircon recharged at the Audi garage (who got a specialist in anyway) at a cost of £53 including some leak detection uv dye. I didn't use the OPC 'cos of location and non brand importance of job.

Most (possibly all?) garages will just get someone in to do it.
