993 & 911 fuel consumption in general

Hi all you fellow 993 owners. I'm curious to know what is considered to be owners' experiences of 'typical' fuel consumption for a Carrera 2/4.

For example when A-road 'cruising' I find I'm achieving 20mpg, when A-road 'blatting'/sitting in traffic/&higher speed motorway work: I find the C4S achieves between 12 & 16mpg. (or these figures are according to the OBC).

I'd be interested to hear of peoples' experiences on fuel (preferred brand), driving and mpg generally. I'd also be interested to learn about typical MPG comparisons of my 1450kg C4S against a lighter C2 993 and even compared to typical figures for earlier and slightly less powerful 930 and 964-series Carreras.

Thanks

Matthew

mine can manage 28-30 mpg on a steady cruise on the motorway, @23mpg avarage, track days @12 mpg, all on Optimax and 17" Pirelli

My C4S has PCM, and as such I have kept a record of mpg since I purchased the car, with 14k miles on the clock, now has 25k miles, and I have averaged 23.6mpg, and that is overall with 4 track days, motorway driving etc etc.

On a good run, taking it easy I can get 350 - 400 miles from a tank of fuel.

Around town mixed driving this drops to 250 miles

My 996 C2 Cab, has averaged a whopping 25.0mpg since I bought it and having covered about 7,000 miles in that time..........this is mainly as a result of the awful town driving I have to do where I can't get spirited.....did check on the track day and it was down to about 13mpg.

I was told when I bought it that there was no need to use Super, but I pretty much always have.....

I think at 70 to 90 mph on motorway driving gives 30 + mpg indicated on the computer of my 993 C4S. On average, disregarding when giving it an Italian tune up, it will indicate an average of 25 + mpg town and country driving.

Hi,

With my 03 C4S get around 400 miles plus per full tank. I tend to do motorway and country roads driving so well into the 20 plus MPG. I avoid Cardiff City Centre rush hours!!

Average 50-90 MPH only very occasionally have to take her higher such as when passing by Merthyr Tydfil with a boy racer tail gaiting in his slammed saxo!! Had to lose him so reached 135mph yesterday fastest I have been in her. Case of safety for my car.

Alan.

My 964 averages about 21mpg overal. Last week I managed 38.7mpg all the way from Wales to Cambridge, very impressed! All of this is with 95 fuel.

After filling up half way through Llandow, it was 10 mpg 'till close of play. Normally a mix of Urban (SE London) and motorway gives me 23 mpg.
