Looking at Buying either a 991 Carrera S with 77k Miles, Sports Exhaust, Sport Chrono, Sports Steering, GT Silver Metallic for £41k or either a Black Edition base Carrera with 70 000 Miles, Sports Exhaust, Multifunction Steering wheel, Sunroof, Carbon Ceramic brakes, Carrera S Wheels at £43k.

Leaning towards the 991 Black Edition due to mileage being less and the PCCB. What would you guys suggest?

Hi

Do you have pics or links?
From description I would prefer the S -the extra power would swing it

PCCBs could be VERY expensive if they develop issues, I drive on the road in 99% of my driving so I'd avoid them, I would also prefer the increased grunt of the S model.

You’d have to really like the different spec of the black edition to go for that IMO. As said, unless you track the car those PCCBs could really stitch you up.

Poss risk of regret if you don’t get the S. You dont want to be feeling - ooh I’d just like that bit of extra power and torque…

All things being equal, I'd go for the GT Silver, no sunroof S, with more power and Sport Chrono.

Even though the PCCBs on the Carrera wouldn't put me off, they wouldn't swing it for me either, and since I don't like black, I'd need to budget for a wrap which is a pain in the neck. But my opinion on specifications is just mine, so it's worthless, and if I was looking, I'd like to know more about the seller, the service history, the overall condition, and also the seats.

Hi,
I’d go with the ‘S’.
Having Sports Chrono is a serious plus and the extra power are great.
The PCCB are expensive should you need replacements and if not tracked.
As mentioned, links needed to have a better picture.
I’m guessing private sale?

As Jeremy always says 'more POWER'!!!

Plus I think the lower ride height of the S and red calipers just look the business!

does sport chrono get the active mounts? (they are £800 each to replace and will go wrong)

But they active mounts add so much to the driving experience.
Saving on cost of replacements and deciding to drive a lesser model doesn’t make sense in my book.

@Menace
I struggled to tell the difference when the PADM failed, at least on the road

I had the same dilema just over a year ago when replacing my 996 and went with the S; never regretted it since. Black Editions are well kitted out but the power of the S far outweighs this.

S without a doubt!
All the best 👍

I'm on my third 991 and none have failed. A good extended warranty on a 911 is a no brainer for me.

I'd always go S over base! Good luck

Another vote here for the 'S' too. Not sure whether this is a daily driver for you etc. but for the age, a 7k mileage difference is negligible. Condition, spec & history is more important than low miles. GT Silver is also a great colour!
