Im interested to know if anyone has used the smaller decklid badges of the 991 on the 997 decklid, I am considering using 991 '911 turbo" badges but unsure if the size would look right and, ideally would like to see a pic if someone has already done this mod.

Cheers

Jason

Personally I think it would look odd unless you also added the P O R S C H E script above it.

Hi Jason. Please keep it original. It looks so much better IMO.

Is it a turbo you have? The original can be had in gloss black if it's a dark coloured car or maybe carbon look or even in red would look good against a dark paint.

If it's a light colour like silver then a chrome one would be my choice.

Have you posted any photos of the car yet ?

I haven't put up any pics yet, I will get round to it, I'm fitting an aero wing, I much prefer the fixed wing look, (had one on my previous black turbo) the car is slate grey and was actually specked from the factory with the turbo badge painted in body color. I did wonder if I should keep the car stock as it is a nice example (42k full opc history and under warranty from new) but I've decided to change up a few things but nothing that isn't reversible, I feel it's part of the fun of ownership.

if this is of any help?

something like this:-

Yeah, that was thought, the 991 seems to have more space in that area my concern was it may look a little cramped but yours looks like it belongs

on my 997.1 with the aero wing I did this

but on the gen2 with the RS style wing I had less space so ended up with this

Please post some pics when the spoiler is fitted, mines also slate grey so
would love to see how it turns out :thumb:
My badge is silver and i quite like it like that but black or body colour I'm sure would also suit.

If you're adding the P O R S C H E letters, you need to bear in mind that the centre of that logo is not in the centre of the S, as the letters are all different widths.

When you have realised this, painstakingly measured every letter, done the calculations and carefully marked the logo centre on the S, you also need to bear in mind that the S looks the same upside down, and to make sure you apply it the right way up :frustrated:

Thanks Jason, If you do it , the 991 template doesn't fit the 997 so you need to know the gap between the letters is 1 letter wide which is great until you get to the last letter  I used the widest letter as my gap measurer, so get yourself a bit of tape or something for the gap on the last letter. I noted on the 991 theres a very very slight curve to the template so when I put the tape on the back to park the line to follow as the bottom edge I put a very slight curve in the tape line but made sure it was the same hight at both ends . or you could just not be as ***** as me and do it straight lol :thumb: and it goes without saying start in the middle with the S and work out to the edges both ways :thumb: :thumb:

And there was me thinking I was being ***** about fitting it :floor: :floor: :floor: if I ever catch you behind my car with a tape I will know what your upto . but your right you need to also use your eyes and judgement but I am glad theres no I or W in PORSCHE that would have really messed me up.

and importantly never follow the guide from Porsche centre Dubai or you will end up with this :floor: :floor: :floor:

The smaller script as found on the 991 might work for you. :dont know:

Do it and it would answer Jason's original question too.

Yeah, I think on reflection I'm going to go with the P O R S C H E in the Matt black as per phils gen 2 blue car, would you have a link to the badge phill?
