987.2 steering wheels & pdk, paddles vs rocker switches

I have a 987.2 Spyder with pdk & sports chrono, the steering wheel has the paddles and lights that state 'Sport' or 'Sport plus' on the nine o-clock spoke. Does any one know if I can swap this wheel with the non paddle type that has two gear change 'rocker' switches instead of the paddles? Will the 'sport' and 'sport plus' modes still work without the lights on the paddle rim or would the ECU throw up fault? Has anyone already swapped these steering wheels? Thanks!

I think they are interchangeable but don’t quote me on that, someone who has done it would need to verify.

Ps you do realise that its much more common to want to do the opposite ie the wheel / PDK paddles you have is a porsche classic design. They are costly to source / fit. I think there would be a ready market of people wanting to swap you for a wheel your after from a standard 987.2 when they where standard fit until late in the 987 production run (and carried over to the 981).

If you have a PDK Sport Design wheel from the factory, you already have the capability to use a multifunction wheel with gear buttons. Applies the other way too.

PDK cars with the multifunction wheel have Sport and Sport Plus lights on them too.
