Evening all! My 2003 C4S needs a new starter motor and despite having removed the old mounting bolts, the will not come out. It won't even move slightly. According the service manuals and DIY guides it should 'simply lift out. Any ideas?

A how to by Alex.

That's a really good DIY article! Sadly, I'm falling down at "The starter just slides right out then". I've undone the starter bolts and the motor still will not budge. I was hoping there was a knack to getting it out that I'm missing!

I wasn't sure how far you had managed to get, I was hoping there might've been something in Alex's guide that could assist you.

I had the same issue when I replaced mine, I ended up using a small prybar/crowbar to lever it out.
I had to buy one specially forthatjob, neverthought I would need one as a Porsche tool!
