Hi Guys,

I wonder if you can help. I have a Lotus Elise, but its time to move on. I have seen a 911 Cabriolet which seems in good condition, but needs a service appartently and has 110,000 miles on the clock. It has service history though. The dealer wants £27,000 for it. It has just standar 17inch alloys and no extras as far as I know.

Is there anything i should be aware of at that milage. Is this a good value car seeing i will want to keep it for about 2 years.

Will appreciate any comments.

Thanks

Don

Nothing wrong with a high-miler, I suggest. But this one seems expensive - though you don't say which year it is.

Only 17 in wheels (unusual and unattractive); no extras (unusual and unattractive); needs a service (depends on what needs doing but could set you back a grand).

I'd avoid. Bad VFM and difficult to move on. Research carefully, see what prices are like generally, look at the many independents specialising in Porsche - and get a pre-purchase inspection done. Buying the wrong Porsche can be v costly - even more so if the price is too high!

Hi,

Its a 1999 model. The only thing is, I cant find another 911 (966) for under 30k (looked at autotrader) so is 27k not cheap? even though its a high miler with no service?

thanks

don

certainly isnt cheap enough

theres more and more high miles 996's around and few takers

tread with caution

your money would be safer in a 993 cab for under 30K
