Ok Guys so my newly rebuilt 82 930 standard car needs 4 new tyres
What do we suggest shedding her with?
Thanks

Here's the old recommended list of N rated tyres

http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=680409#680409

I'm shopping for 16" 7 & 9 s currently. 205/55/ZR16 and 245/45/ZR16

Current possibles are...

Yokohama AO 52

Pirelli P Zero Rosso

Yokohama Avan Apex V601

Nankang Sportnex AS-2 (budget price but apparently good)

Have been advised to keep clear of the Toyo Proxes TR1 as the sidewalls are apparently unsuitable for a 911?

Does anyone have any thoughts or help?

Thanks

Its a no brainer really.

Because there was a range of good tyres available in this size, however these tyres were developed for more modern cars, so Porsche, back in 2019 asked Pirelli to make the original 16" P7 again. Porsche were full aware of the benefits of these tyres as they had already asked for the earlier 15" P7 to be made in 2016. As these tyeres were produced again Porsche tested these tyres with the N homologation.

This is the tread pattern you want not the more modern one. (which; though a good tyre is designed to work in a different enviroment.)

The current range of Cinturato P7 tyres in Pirellis Collezione range are produced in Pirelli factory under their quality control. they use modern compounds, However importantly the carcass is built exactly to compliment your chassis geometry.

I read somewhere that Michelin PS4 were the best tyres for the 930?
I genuinely have no clue, but I did some digging on google and I think it was an American site that recommended them as better than anything else they'd tried.

I also need four new tyres on my 930, the ones on it currently are five years old and it's hardly done any miles but I don't know if they have flat spots or what condition the car has been stored in, so I figured new ones were in order.
